Cheating on your diet is not a good thing. But it happens to the best of us. Things like going out to eat at a restaurant or going somewhere that doesn’t have healthy foods might be a culprit. Other times family members or friends will tempt us with things that aren’t the healthiest to eat.
When you cheat on your diet, it’s very important to bounce back. Making one small mistake does not mean you need to give up eating healthy for good. It means that the next time you need to try a little harder to avoid temptation.
If you do cheat on your diet, here are some tips for bouncing back after cheating on your diet:
1. Exercise: While exercising isn’t going to directly make you lose weight from what you ate, it will make you feel better and give you the motivation to start eating healthy again.
2. Don’t stockpile on anything: Having a cupboard full of “emergency” sweets and treats is not a good idea. Get rid of anything in your house that you shouldn’t eat – donate it to a charity or give to a friend.
3. Pledge the next day you will be more careful: Making a mistake today doesn’t mean you need to repeat that same dieting mistake tomorrow. Watch it more carefully the next day to make sure you don’t make the same dieting mistake again.
